Our Speech Pathologist

Sarah Howell

Sarah Howell is a compassionate and dedicated speech therapist who supports individuals aged 8 and above in finding the best way to communicate. Whether working with children, teenagers, or adults, Sarah is known for her kindness, patience, and adaptability. She creates a calm and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood, using creative, individualised approaches to meet each person’s unique needs.

Sarah is committed to neurodiversity-affirming practices and continually evolves her methods. Sarah is guided by the quote from Maya Angelou (American poet and civil rights activist) “Do the best you can, until you know better. Then when you know better, do better”. This quote inspires Sarah to constantly reflect on her work and grow in her practice to provide the best possible care for her clients.

Sarah also strongly believes in Dr. Ross Greene’s (American clinical child psychologist) philosophy, “Kids do well if they can”, which she applies more widely to all individuals of any age by believing ‘all people can do well when/if they have the right supports’. Sarah recognises that everyone has the potential to succeed when given the right support and tools. She is dedicated to providing the individualised care necessary to support her clients to thrive.

Sarah has experience providing telehealth, school, home, and community-based sessions, as well as working 1:1 with clients or alongside their families and support networks. She has experience coaching parents and support workers to help them support a client’s progress. Sarah specialises in helping people with speech sound difficulties, language, literacy, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) needs, creating therapy that is practical, meaningful, and personalised to each individual.

Sarah values building trusting relationships with her clients, helping them feel confident and capable in their communication. Her goal is to support lasting progress in a way that is both enjoyable and empowering.
